Any suggestions for cheap split tickets/routeings for Preston to Bristol other than the Preston to Wolverhampton then Wolverhampton to Cheltenham Spa then Cheltenham Spa to Bristol found on the split ticket websites?

Particularly keen to see if there are any cheaper 1st class options.

This is a general enquiry for repeat journeys but travelling off-peak would be ok.
