Theres been an operating incident at Pulborough and buses are now replacing trains between Horsham and Pulborough, in addition to the buses already running between Pulborough and Barnham/Littlehampton.

Trains on the Arun Valley were terminating at Pulborough, so would the disruption possibly be caused by a faulty crossover ? The Southern Journey Check website is showing the disruption as "emergency engineering work".

the crossover at Pulborough is known to break because it is rarely used. I'm not sure if that is the reason or not.

I'm trying to find out from a friend who works at Southern what is happening?

EDIT: it does appears that it is emergency engineering works, not entirely sure what it is exactly though

Ah, this explains why i had to stand between Vic and Shoreham on my diverted Portsmouth train - not helped by the PHM portion being only 4 carriages long after Haywards Heath.

The train splitting at HHE usually alternates between 4 or 8 coaches going to Eastbourne or Worthing - just unlucky that that particular service was 4 coaches. Usually always the more empty section has the most coaches !!
