Person hit by train apparently - all trains diverted and running fast from Elephant and Castle to Shortlands - not being reported on NRE yet.

Not a good evening in London either, signal faults at Lewisham, Motspur Park and Stratford and poor rail conditions at Homerton - wonder if these are down to the hot weather.

EDIT - PHBT at Beckenham Hill, 60 minute delays between Blackfriars and Bromley South. No service Nunhead - Shortlands.

If it had been one of those new fangled automatically driven trains, would it have stopped at all?

Yes, the same as the DLR stops when one of theirs hits someone.

What a stupid thing to ask, though I guess it was asked either through ignorance of how ATO works or just trying to get in a dig in with ref to the other thread.

If someone is hit with a glancing blow by an ATO service, I'm not sure the train would stop, obviously if someone goes under then the track circuits register but there is nothing to stop the train if it hits a person who bounces clear is there?

Thinking off the driver and other staff involved, it's a weird thing to think the units you were driving on the previous journey are involved not nice at all.

Plus the gapped train at North East Kent. Delays of 60mins were fiction as no major delays were occurring because of this incident.

Was it the 1832 ex Sevenoaks that was involved?

Yes.

Not good. Feel for the driver and one coming other way as it happened.

Completely off the juice - but was rolled back enough to get a shoe on the con rail and get going. Exceptionally bad luck
