805011 at Crewe depot tonight. (27/8/24)
LAst time I travelled on 9G26, 1H25 was stuck behind it all the way to Rugby, by which time it was well into delay repay territory. I did wonder why it wasn't let past at Milton Keynes - the first genuine passing point - possibly signaller too busy to do anything about it. In this case the slowing down for station stops and dwell time loses more time than 110mph vs 125mph running. if a Pendolino had been used for 9G26, it might only have been a few minutes quicker to Milton Keynes. Any idea why 1H25 was late departing Euston?
1D91 Splits at Chester to form 5K91 to Crewe C.S. and 1D91 through to Holyhead. The train from Crewe C.S. in the morning attaches to 1A14 at Chester.5K91 Chester to Crewe C.S was 805009 tonight. Seems to be a regular working in the evening.
I've noticed that too. There was only one Holyhead train cancelled this week (1D80 BHM - HHD was cancelled CRE-HHD on Tuesday morning.)
Likewise the Wed-Fri of just week all the trains seemed to run. ( There was only a Crewe - Holyhead shuttle service running Sat - Mon over the bank holiday weekend.)
805s losing 20-40 minutes at random locations remains a feature however so they're not out of if the woods yet.
I've noticed that too.
Dare I hope we've now turned a corner with better working relationships?
Just sort these 805s out now!
I've noticed one diagram per day still seems to be voyagers - 1R25 0548 Holyhead-Euston, 1D83 0902 EUS-HHD, 1A62 1448 HHD-EUS and 1D93 1902 EUS-HHD.
Do we know if this is likely to change soon, or will it continue to be for some time yet?
There is still a pair of Voyagers on the early morning Birmingham - Euston which form the 09:02 - looks like it's 1R02 (there is a 5R02 Central Rivers to Birmingham). The 05.48 HHD-EUS does not form the 09.02 EUS - HHD. There’s still 6 voyager traffic diagrams until the Dec timetable change.
No, of course not - Senior Moment! The 05.48 HHD-EUS does not form the 09.02 EUS - HHD, it doesn’t arrive in Euston until 09.35!

And most likely more train managers too. A recent service was canned from Chester because the TM was not passed for 805's.It‘s because more drivers have completed their training.
AIUI No new diagrams until December.
Anybody know where 006 and 007 are as my last 2805011 at Crewe depot tonight. (27/8/24)
Back at the factory (Newton Aycliffe) - they went back in JulyAnybody know where 006 and 007 are as my last 2
Been done for a few months, it was like that when it was delivered from the factory.Just seen 807001 at edge hill in the avanti livery, looked very shiny so presumably it's only just been done
Oh, I thought they were all just grey still, clearly notBeen done for a few months, it was like that when it was delivered from the factory.
No, when they leave factory for delivery to Avanti, they are in full Avanti livery.Oh, I thought they were all just grey still, clearly not
With the exception of 805002 (Still Grey) and 805004 (which was subsequently wrapped at Oxley)No, when they leave factory for delivery to Avanti, they are in full Avanti livery.
Looked promising today with 1D80 running throughout as a double set (805 004/5).There seems to have been a major improvement in AWC North Wales services over the last couple of weeks.

RTT shows it as two trains changing over at the Junction; and with the sets in reverse order from there so possibly a cab fault. However the return 1A26 from Holyhead was delayed at Llandudno Jn with a "train fault" - now 93 late.
It also meant the on-time 1232 Chester-Euston (2x221) followed a handful of minutes later throughout.RTT shows it as two trains changing over at the Junction; and with the sets in reverse order from there so possibly a cab fault.
Later running nearly two hours late - but exceptionally was still sent forward from Crewe rather than 'pined' there
TPWS fault so the one unit was run-around the other, presumably burying the fault ‘in the middle’ which is why it could continue to London.RTT shows it as two trains changing over at the Junction; and with the sets in reverse order from there so possibly a cab fault.

The pair is now on a Euston - Wolverhampton service so maybe it was to get them back to Oxley. Normally the 0853 ex Holyhead seems to form the 1502 back which splits at Chester.RTT shows it as two trains changing over at the Junction; and with the sets in reverse order from there so possibly a cab fault.

Should a set need to undergo a aux off/aux on reset during service, it needs to stand for 10 minutes to enable the computers to reconfigure. That could be one source of delay, followed by the inevitable loss of pathing. There seems to have been a major improvement in AWC North Wales services over the last couple of weeks.
