The discussion on this thread seems to have run it's course: https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...ereof-to-the-general-public-be-banned.208946/ but there was mention that most/all public displays are unable to take place this year because of the COVID-19 rules.

I see that there are a few displayed described as "drive in", presumably where they are launched from spaces adjacent to car parks and attendees pay to watch them from their cars.

Here in St Albans, which has one of the biggest displays every year, the Cathedral has appealed for a minimum of £20K crowdfunding in donations for a display that will be displayed much higher than is normal, even for large event fireworks.

It is estimated that the display will be visible across the city from residents own gardens or even through windows.

The appeal has achieved it's minimum target, and will now go ahead on Saturday 7th November.

Are there any large displays happeneing elsewhere?

Lewisham Council have cancelled the Blackheath display this year.
As it's normally free and unticketed (and draws a big crowd from the local area) they didn't really have a choice.

I feel for the small, furry creatures of St Albans and the surrounding areas!

Being extra high, the noise from them will be more dissipated. At least that’s what I’m telling the cats.
I imagine that some if not all of them will be launched from Verulamium Park, and the top of that is about the same height as here (114m) and we're less than 300m from the Bluehouse Hill/King Harry Lane entrance. We can just about see the normal display from 1st floor windows, which is useful when it lousy weather. For those that don't make it there's always the Youtube stream accessible from the Abbey website.
