Hi all being new to this forum I wondered if their are any Chiltern Drivers on here who could give an insight into the roster for Birmingham. Earliest book on / book off, rest day pattern longest and shortest turns and any other info would be great.

Thanks in advance

Earliest book on times are 04:50 for AM cover and the 05:15 departure, there are a fair few book on times for the next hour or so. Earliest book off is about 10:30 off the top of my head, but the Covid timetable has changed diagrams hugely. There are a few 9-5 shifts which are mostly for accommodated staff, PMs are a bit more spread out with book on times from 12:30 until 17:00, finishing 19:00 until 01:00. There are plenty of late finishes because all the late Birmingham's off of Marylebone stable at Moor Street. No night turns. 50% RD Saturdays, Sundays outside the working week and optional. RD pattern is erratic but it's based around a long weekend every three weeks or so. There are single RD weeks.

What is Chiltern like as a employer ? Brum will be a pollution changing zone from this summer. Can check you car online else it's £8 a day.
City centre will be a pollution charging zone for cars from summer. £8 to enter. Check online to see if your car will be charged. Think for Petrol 10 years or older and Diesel is 4 years.

Wow I'd forgotten about that. So it's expected that all shift workers use taxis or pay the fee if there's no public transport at their clocking on/off time? I mean it's not just train drivers this would affect is it?

Short answer: yes.

Staff parking is at Moor Street multi storey, the one with the bridge to the Bullring if you know the city centre. There’s a direct entrance from that car park to the station.

Yes. Or buy a new ish car. Will affect everyone. Lot of office cleaners park very early (one street charging does not happen until 08:00) and they do have old cars and will have an issue.
