Ok, i have heard lots of stuff about HSTs being more effiecent than Voyagers. And wandered. Would an: MTU+8 Mk3s+MTU be more effiecient on a run like Bristol-Plymouth vs a 8-car Voyager? A run that they both do.

In terms of environmental friendliness blah, the MTU wins, purely because it is legal for new builds now, and the QSK19 Cummins engine that the Voyagers, Meridians et al use is now illegal.
