It would appear that some users are having difficulty understanding how to quote other users and this is just a message to provide extra help as detailed in our FAQ.

To quote a single post, just click the
quote.gif
button to the bottom right of every post. If you want to split up the quote to reply to different parts then you can copy and paste the opening and closing tags whilst in the reply to thread window.

If you wish to quote multiple posts in a single thread, press the
multiquote_off.gif
button, it will then change colour to confirm your selection. When you have selected all your posts press the post reply button, at the top and bottom of the page.

A successful quote contains the name of the user who posted it and a direct link to that post. You can then post a reply underneath the quote, after the closing quote tag. This helps other users understand to what point(s) you are referring to and where they can find the original post. Posting your reply below the quote is consistent with normal reading and writing.

Just to bump this up, particularly for new users as there appears to have been a lot of problems recently! Quoting properly makes it much easier to locate the original post and will also save you time as in most cases you can click a single button!
