Good afternoon all. As can be seen I am a new member, having enjoyed the forum as a guest on previous occasions.

When Covid-19 restrictions on leisure travel are lifted, I am hoping to mark the release from a year of housebound lockdown by getting a 7-day North-West Rail Rover.

I have a Disabled Persons Railcard and am aware that it can be used without time-of-day restrictions, but have been wondering if this benefit extends to Rover tickets.

I can imagine a sunny summer morning when a departure well before 9am would be appreciated. Anybody help?

The 34% discount associated with the Disabled Persons Railcard applies to any (qualifying) ticket used at any time of day.

Underlying time restrictions on a ticket (e.g. the 'not before 9am' restriction on the Freedom of the North West Rover) continue to apply when a DPR is used.

On this ticket product, the before 9.00 a.m. time restriction doesn't apply on journeys on direct services on the WCML between Lockerbie and Carlisle stations only or on Cumbrian Coast stations between Barrow in Furness and Carlisle stations only.

Obviously no time restrictions on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Whether this is of any help I guess depends on where you are setting off from on any particular day.
