Had a rail rover, first class for a week, with the same held by a friend. Had to abort part of this (even including sleeper and restaurant car bookings) due to strike action early in July. Though we did alter plans we had a much lesser alternative and we have applied accordingly, with letter to state same. To go back down to London for the outward 1206hrs restaurant working , and the sleeper back is going to be costly if space is available, we have not had a response yet but wondered how we stood and whether we should appeal if not happy with outcome. It may be of relevance but our claim , made to First Great Western who we sent letter to was passed onto First Trans Pennine as the tickets were bought at their station in Hull. This seemed strange as I had not come across this before and as our complaint was to FGW wondered if this was a fudge. Any help would be helpful

From what I remember, FGW deigned refunds could only be claimed from people who decided not to use their ticket at all, and partial refunds for people with monthly or longer season tickets on services that were significantly affected. So partially used, rover and weekly tickets and anything on LTV were excluded.
