According to the Stansted Express website, Stansted Express tickets are accepted on overnight National Express coach services between Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.

Can you use any train ticket that is normally valid on the Stansted Express, such as a London to Waterbeach ticket?

Can't see it being an issue as 1. the operator is the same and 2. the fare to Waterbeach, way beyond Cambridge is much higher.

Bet there's some silly NX clause somewhere.

Are they both the same company now that the trains are run by Greater Anglia?

My bad. It's Abellyflop now, I wonder how the NX coach arrangement works - maybe money changes hands or the data on their website (copied from the NXEA site) is out of date.

Not any more. Greater Anglia is owned by Abellio. However, the Stansted Express site, which is branded in Greater Anglia style, retains the text about accepting tickets on the coach.
