The Great Central Railway is pulling out all the stops this year for the Autumn Gala during October 8th and 9th, with no less than 9 Locomotives expected to make an appearence, with the Caprotti 5 (73129) and a 9F (92212) both expected to make guest appearences.,

No. 7821    Great Western Railway Manor Class 2-6-0
No. 92212   British Railways Standard 9 (facing North)
An intensive timetable is expected, with possible Locomotive Changes taking place at Leicester North, local trains between Loughborough and Rothley, demonstration Freight, Goods and Parcels trains, express trains, double heading, and much more.

Fares are expected to be the normal Gala fares of

On the Double Track you wont go long before you see a cloud of smoke in the distance, and maybe even two trains passing at once.

Is this a steam gala? If not, why didn't the GCR add in a couple of diesels?

BTW: This isn't a RailUK exclusive...

Tom told me to put the Exclusive bit in the name, and IIRC it's the Steam Railway Autumn Gala, although the Steam Railway bit may be dropped this year.

No Diesel's due to it being a Summer Gala, although the Class 20 may be on Shunt Release at Rothley, with the Class 10 shunting in Loughborough if required.
