It's generally accepted that public railways in Indonesia exist -- or have done -- on the islands of Sumatra and Java, and the small island of Madura just off Java. There has also been a public rail line -- in peacetime -- on another island of that country, under "whoever" 's rule. Please name the island; and tell the line's general location thereon.

That's the one. It had a public railway in Netherlands East Indies days, for an almost ephemeral time-window: 1922 -- 1930. 1067mm gauge, from the island's capital Ujung Pandang aka Makasar at island's far-southern end, just under 50km to Takalar. There were plans for further extending in Sulawesi, of this line; but the financial crash of 1929 and subsequent world-wide economic depression, meant that these were not fulfilled.

Your tropical colony, opening-up rail lines to inaugurate in which, as you see fit...

Strangely enough they appear to now be building some railways on Sulawesi !

This should not last long.

In which town did this long since destroyed mural once grace the wall at the end of a car park?

It was indeed.

Please take charge of the works.
Well thank you.
The picture reminded me of something...
A fairly easy one - In the 1980s there was a steam locomotive being restored/dismantled in the old fish dock at Bristol Temple Meads.
What was the loco and who owned it at the time?
(If you passed through the station back then the tarpaulin over the boiler had the name of the firm emblazoned upon it).

King Edward II Harveys of Bristol?
Absolutely right Jenson (and welcome by the way).
6023 was bought by Harveys for £21,000 and worked on at Temple Meads by a group of Manpower Services Scheme people.
Eventually the scheme finished and the GWS stepped in and bought everything for about £16,000.
The rest as they say is history.

Your Barry no-hoper...

I’ll take the open floor here, and say which station managed by Chiltern Railways was opened in the same year as the first FIFA recognised international football match?

Technically Kings Sutton does fill the criteria (it seems there are two correct answers) but isn’t the station I was referring to, but as it is correct we’ll take that as a win.

Was it when the Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46170 "British Legion" was withdrawn and scrapped without their knowledge?
