Is the correct answer! they had to remove it for a month in 1980 as the would-be thieves actually bent the nameplate when trying to remove it.

Three class 47 locomotives became celebrities when they were repainted for the GWR 150 celebrations in 1985. What were their names and numbers?

Firstly, an apology! It appears that there may actually have been 4 class 47s that received GWR 150 livery, but I only found 3 of them in my research, hence my question :oops:

@Ashley Hill, you have 3 of the correct ones and so have fulfilled the question (The other which I found was 47628 Sir Daniel Gooch), so please, the paint shop is yours :D
