Not sure that "hell hole" schools, trainers or X-boxes are terribly relevant.

Quite so. Some of the throwaway comments in this thread are pretty shocking. Would the same phrases and assertions be made if you knew that pupils from these schools read these boards? If so, then it is bullying. If not, it's cowardly. Mocking those less fortunate than us is not cool. Asserting poor motives for a whole group of people has a long history (and not in a good way).

One easy fix - don't stop at greenbank.

Or withdraw the offer it does for schoolkids tickets it runs on that line.

Harsh, but will stop the "dangerous" overcrowding.

If Northern don't stop that train at Greenbank they'll need to add in an extra service as the franchise requirement is for all trains to stop there unless Northern run more than the minimum required. Plus it would affect others who use the train to/from Greenbank.

Scholar's season tickets ending in July 2019 have already been sold, so too late to withdraw the offer. Anyway part of the reason for the Scholar's season tickets is because Northern calculated they would get more money from them as it mean fewer schoolkids avoiding buying tickets (as their parents have already bought them a ticket for the whol term/year) opposed to having a few pounds in their pocket which they can spend on magazines/sweets/whatever teenagers spend money on in 2018 if they avoid buying a ticket and avoid a ticket check.
