They work weekday peak services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield.

The units working evening peak departures from Liverpool Street for the six diagrams are reported elsewhere to first visit the station on the following services:
1646
1656
1716
1730
1752
1808

You should be able to work out the rest by tracing the other times in the cycles using open data sites. All of these workings appear to arrive at Liverpool Street empty.

For withdrawal information there is an existing thread https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/class-315-withdrawals.153008/ but it is suggested they will be fully displaced by 345s between May and September.

Much appreciated. Many thanks.
So get them in before may. Or asap.
Because after may they might well get phased out asap. Before September etc.
Or just turn up only as required.
Thanks for the information

Long shot I suspect but are there any 315 diagrams on Saturdays now? - and specifically are there any likely to be out tomorrow Saturday 21 August?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Bizarrely there is a Saturday diagram but it only runs early morning and late evening. It stables at Shenfield during the day.

Its not so bizarre. All three units that stable at Shenfield CS are used in traffic on a Saturday. As one of them is a 315 (from Friday night) it gets a run out until the drivers diagrams allow it to be swapped out for a 345. Then the reverse happens Saturday evening to swap the 345 back to a 315. It keeps the units balanced for Monday to Friday without incurring additional drivers diagrams on Saturday.

At the risk of asking a silly question, why not run the 315s all day? Would they end up in the wrong place?

Not a silly question, but 315s are operating on a minimum mileage basis to preserve their longevity. TfL also want their 345s used as much as possible. They help punctuality if you get a minor delay, and TfL are very keen on their right time punctuality figures.

And yes having just traced the diagram throughout the day it wouldn’t end up back in Shenfield CS.

Many thanks - good to know they are still out. Sadly my arrival and departure times in London will not make it possible to take a run on them tomorrow, but many thanks for taking the time to reply @Bikeman78

Just as an update to the above. I was in the area for the whole of last Friday(27th) evening peak. Only departures from Liv St. were at 17.35, 18.10 and 18.15. Much reduced from what I expected. I fear the end is approaching

Yes, they have been down to three 8 car diagrams on weekdays since a week after the May timetable change. Sometimes it is as few as two diagrams but there are still 14 active 315s.

I very much doubt they will last beyond December when they will reach 41 years in traffic. However, considering the first withdrawals were back in 2018, they've enjoyed a long goodbye.

Would there be much chance of them lasting until the end of October? And would they be on similar diagrams to now or be reduced further

Yes, I think that's a cert they'll be around but I'm unsure on diagrams. From the Crossrail update from 27th August:

Following the introduction of nine-car full-length Class 345 trains on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield route in May, six are now in operation alongside seven-car Reduced Length Units (RLU) and Class 315 ‘legacy’ trains. Replacement of the remaining RLUs and the Class 315 trains will commence in November.
Replacement 'commences' in November, suggesting the 315s will see final withdrawal by the December 2021 timetable change.

Are there any more blocks planned for the Crossrail tunnel? This makes it difficult for the nine cars to get to Old Oak and they are too long for Ilford. This means more use of class 315s as seen in the early weeks of the May timetable.

We were told there is a block from 10th October for a couple of weeks, but that all seems to have gone quiet. I believe MTR came up with some sort of solution to get the 9 cars to OOC which allows the 9 cars to stay in service on the East. (Drag around to OOC?)

I suppose it comes down to what is the cheapest solution. I think the 315s are on lease until December. They are perfectly up to the job. They are the most immaculate 40 year old trains I've seen. Very clean, few squeaks or rattles and still more reliable than their replacements. They are a credit to the people that maintain them.

I'll echo that, I had a go on two pairs yesterday and they're being well looked after. It is still weird for me not seeing 315s on all the stoppers, and boy aren't 345s boring in comparison to the 315s?

Yes, outwardly at least, the 315s seem to be bowing out with plenty left in the tank. Immaculately presented, very reliable and sprightly. They are far, far better cared for these days than Southern's 313s or Merseyrail's 507/8s.

To be fair the remaining PEP based units are all quite presentable. The Moorgate 313s were battered although they were still mechanically in good nick. They routinely covered 41 diagrams from 44 units for years. In fact I think it was 41 from 43 for several weeks because 313026 was stood down before the 717s started.

I rode 315837+856 as well as 315847+857 last Wednesday, wow they're in decent condition and a huge credit to TfL.

I made it my official farewell to them, with a short video here:
