Any knowledge on which power cars will be operating the Castle set in the near future, and how many Castle sets are now in service?
Only 1 Castle Set is in service with 11 sets in total and 24 Power cars.

Two sets delivered, one in use, the other being used for staff training. Not sure I understand the first question?

At this rate the HSTs could all be withdrawn from London Paddington mainline services by the end of this year, or even the middle of this year.

May timetable change is the current estimate of when they finish.

Thank you both of you for the news about HST withdrawals. This is good news as I am considering a summer holiday in Bristol to include riding the Metrobus network. I just need to evaluate whether to wait until electrification to Cardiff is complete, which I doubt will be before the December timetable change.

So, as per the latest weekday diagrams, this means there are only two remaining Pullmans off PAD which are HST booked; the 1303 and 1903, am I right?

Spark001uk, The only Pullman services which are still HST, are 06.53-12.01-12.55 Plymouth-Paddington and 19.03 Paddington-Plymouth, all the rest are 2x5 car 802.

From looking in a February 2019 rail issue April for IW1-7. I would assume the last run will be a Friday on the 1903 Plymouth.
Let's hope not and hope it's the 2103 and thus something driven by a Plymouth man! Don't want Exeter taking the glory!! Though seriously there is talk of specials running from Penzance , Swansea, Hereford and Bristol into London on one day although whether this is just messroom crap I really don't know . Bound to do something ceremonial for the 'last'

I guess a little bit like the Cumbrian coast 37's special last Friday. I will hopefully go for the last day of HST service out of Paddington I just hope it will have some off lease power cars not just GWR Retain ones.

Is anyone able to confirm whether this Saturday (19 January) that 1B03 0645 Bristol Temple Meads - Swansea will be running as a HST as booked on the WTT please? I've noticed that the line between Swindon and Didcot is shut so there may be less HST diagrams. Thank you.

I'm guessing the GWR reservation and seat booking system still isn't quite perfectly synced with the diagrams, I've booked a journey this coming week from Cornwall to London, it's diagrammed for a HST (early AM from Cornwall) according to the list earlier on this thread, but the seat I've been allocated (first class) is in coach E, which I'm guessing would be where it is on a IET?

What service have you booked it on? Coach E is definitely a first class coach on the IET - Coach E doesn't exist on the HSTs anymore either.

What is the coach lettering now of:
HST
9-car 800
2x5-car 800?

It was obviously simpler when it was A-H in order TGS-4TS-TRFB-2TF - I think I noticed that one of the standard class coaches was coach H on a HST I saw the other day, presumably to allow easy substitution by 9- or 10-800.

On HSTs it's now A-B-C-D-H-J-K-L
Was previously A-B-C-D-E-F-K-L
