Does the removal of the weekday spare HST imply that after this weekend an HST failure on the day will have to be replaced by an IET?
I would assume so, after all its GWR and the IET to replace it would fail on the next leg no doubt.

Travelling on Weds 6th February, had HST on 14.45 Paddington-Swansea, did all the way to Swansea, and back to Bristol Parkway which by looks of it is not booked HST, so very lucky and surprised, maybe pretty much last ride on a GWR HST.
It has been a solid HST diagram since January. Goes over to IET next Monday.

Just to confuse people 2C42 0525 Bristol TM to Penzance today is terminating Truro due to said Engineering Work and is being worked by HST vice DMU - 43018 + 43156. Should then work 1A83 Truro to Paddington

1A80 TRU-PAD and any subsequent services on the same diagram were operated by a HST yesterday. Didn't catch the numbers on my way up to Exeter (from Bodmin Parkway) but definitely was a HST.

I think 1A80 was 43098+43174. 43098 being in GWR green if that helps.

I can't answer your question. But when are the diverted WoEML services running?

The Waterloo service seems unaffected! This just shows you can fit extra trains on the WofE line surely?

A two hourly service will be in operation for the journey before terminating at Taunton for bus transfer to Exeter ( transfer time I believe 75mins) although the 11.03 1C78 is being diverted at Yeovil Pen Mill/Yeovil Junc, Chard S/B,Honiton,Axminster and Exeter St and arriving at Newton Abbott at 14.44[/QUOTE].This is a HST 8 car coach

Shame it's not calling at Central. Do you know of any HSTs that are?

Just as a slight aside, last nights Riviera (starting Plymouth due Engineering Work in Cornwall) was formed of an HST due failure. 57602. I wonder if this was the last covering this duty.

Interesting. So was it the sleeper rake with a power car on both ends?

I wouldn't have thought so; I don't think Loco-hauled Mk3s are through-wired for control of 43s and even if they were HST power cars Electric Train Supply is totally different to that of LHCS.

No - the sleeper set has both a different train supply system and is not through wired for HST power car multiple working.

Train was formed of 43018/156 and HST set OC54.

For weekdays, diagrams IW11, IW12 and IW13 have now all gone over to IET operation (Today all worked by 9 car IETs, though 1A02 on IW12 was a HST then swapped to 9 car IET).

Diagrams IW1 - IW10 still HST but more will be going over to IET over the next months.

Weekends, diagrams IW11 and IW12 on Sat and diagrams IW11 and IW13 on Sun should be going to IET from the 17th too.

This means no more weekday and Saturday HSTs to Swansea, but diagram IW10 (1B35 and 1L86) on Sunday isn't due to go over yet. Although, this diagram isn't operating as per the WTT for a few weeks due to engineering works.
