150104 formed the 07:58 FGW service to Great Malvern this morning; caused some bemused faces on customers at Fgt St.

@Newtownmgr: I know that one of the LM 150s will be used on the BHM-HFD diagrams in order to maintain driver knowledge, but why do the Worcester crews need to maintain the knowledge?

On a Friday night the sets used on the Marston Vale line are swapped with fresh sets from Tys. The Worcs driver who works the 22.37 ECS from Worcs to Tys takes the 150+153 up to New St & then takes the 150+153 left by the Bletchley Driver down to Tys whilst the Bletchley driver heads home with the fresh sets. Bletchley drivers have their PNB at New St & don't sign TYS. It is already diagrammed at present & is easier & cheaper to keep it this way. If they re diagrammed the swap for New St men to do that would require 150+ drivers having to retain knowledge,at Worcs there are only about 65 drivers to keep knowledge. The only other depot that signs New St - Tys is Salop but they have no 150 work at present.

If 150105/7/9 are staying with LM will they receive LM livery?
It seems to be the question on a few peoples' minds (we really need to have one big LM 150 cascade thread), but I haven't heard that anyone knows of a definitive answer yet. I certainly hope they will do.

I believe units are approaching C4 overhauls, if that's the case then I should imagine LM are in discussions with the leasing company as to what will be done. I would hope at the very least the units will have new seats/covers & LM vinyls applied, depth of work will depend on how long LM are keeping the sets.

Well 150106+105 back out today on 07.09 Dorridge - Stourbridge. They then do some round trips to Whitlocks End then end up on 18.38 Kidderminster - Dorridge and 20.29 return.
150001 is also out on 06.45 Worcester - Dorridge again (5th day running now) and 150124 is on it's own stabled at Tyseley.

5Z50 0100 Tyseley-St.Phillips Marsh in for tomorrow morning so looks like 150124 is making its move westwards.

I agree, I reckon it may do the same diagram as this week at least until the timetable change, which is only another 2 weeks anyway. Don't quote me though just a wild guess

Speaking of LM 150s, I know it's abit vague at the moment, but are there still any 150 turns booked for a saturdays? Ideally looking for something to do before or after Warley.

I saw a 150 today at Meols Cop Station travelling towards Southport today while driving over the bridge. Didn't get a number I'm afraid. However was still in central livery.

150001 out again today on 06.45 Worcester - Dorridge etc with a change of partner this time 153371.

Nine I thought. Presumably they will be repainted and tidied up. Post above mentions those remaining so three must already be there. FGW want the non standard units by the way

No, that's just the last batch to move across from London Midland. Northern have gained a total of eighteen 150s from LM.

Can someone check that number? I have it down as Northern receiving:
150103/10/11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18/19/32, and 150204/06/10/14/20/26.

Six units as 180 replacement (Which was originally what the seven 142s hired out to FGW were meant to be for when they moved back, but are now additional capacity) and nine units as additional capacity.

Sorry yeah 36 carriages. 36 divided by two is 18. Just ordered the 2012 DMU and EMU platform 5 handbooks which should clear it up!

Yes - Northern were definitely due 18 ex LM 150s in total.

(Or 36 carriages - as the DfT would say...)

I think the individual Platform 5 pocket books are only correct to the 31st October of the year before which they apply, so it should catch a snapshot in time of the LM 150 cascade mid-flow rather than the completed re-allocation. Better to wait for the Combined Volume when it comes out, which is accurate to January 1st. :)

Correct listing - the word 'remaining' in my post insinuates the others had already moved.
