Replacement Buses to Didcot.... by XC

Sorry if this is in the wrong subforum:

I have just seen that all Didcot - Oxford and Oxford - Didcot trains are buses today. Is there any reason for this, and also: why are CrossCountry running buses?

They never run to Didcot!

Engineering works. XC always pass near Didcot. Saves running buses to Reading

And XC are running Didcot-Bournemouth. So buses that connect at either end with their trains are "theirs."

Thanks both - I knew XC ran near Didcot, but seen as they never call there I was wondering why the buses were doing this run.
How come I didn't hear of these engineering works when I live in the area? Wow!
