Does anyone know of any studies looking at spread of the VUI COVID-19 in relation to transport links? Was looking at some areas with increasing diagnoses of COVID-19 and spotted a few areas in Yorkshire of interest - Doncaster, York, Hull - all places with heavily used, direct train links to London.
I recognise that it would be difficult to attribute cause and effect (travel and spread) and relate this directly, but it would be interesting to see/know of any that are in progress.

This is something which I'm definitely interested in - I recall a post on here from a few weeks back noting that the areas with large increases at that time almost perfectly mapped to areas with significant commuting to London. I'm not aware of any studies but

Though one thing I've noticed is that Cumbria and the Isle of Wight both seem to be experiencing rapid increases despite distance from London. Could they be subject to a second home effect (the former would be due to the Lake District)?

Potentially! People returning home etc.

One exception is Huntingdonshire, which still has some of the lowest cases, at the moment.

Maybe less people commute from Huntingdon as Peterborough is more frequent and faster? Just guessing.
