We are thinking of meeting two family members this coming Saturday (24th) to walk to Blea Moor signal box. Did any go last weekend and if so how busy was it? We are all travelling a long way and don’t want to arrive and find it packed with others doing the same thing. Thanks.

Hi.First time poster.I have walked in the area many times before. If you are planning on visiting the area this weekend, you will find it very busy if the weather is good.Blea Moor signal box is situated right next to the path which heads up to Whernside in the three peaks area. There should be somewhere to park on the B6255 road, if you get there as early as possible. It's worth walking a few hundred yards past the signal box to view the waterfall and aqueduct too.Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum Paul and thank you that was very helpful. I wasn’t aware of the waterfall and aqueduct so will check that out if the crowds don’t put us off. Cheers.

You're welcome. When you are heading on the path towards the signal box there should be a fingerpost pointing left under the railway bridge (Winterscales). If you go under the railway bridge and turn right on to the moor you should be able to get photos of the front of Blea Moor signal box.You can then retrace your steps towards the waterfall on the main path towards Whernside.

Just noticed a picture on FB which shows the Ribblehead car parks full at 12.54 yesterday. Malham at that time was failry quiet but bar staff were expecting it to be heaving on Saturday with the forecast.
So definitely get there early!

Fully agree with you there!!.The parking area next to the refreshment van at the road junction of the B6479/B6255 always gets full quickly. It's normally possible find somewhere to park on the B6255 road heading east towards Hawes.
