Total legend, brilliant bloke. Took him from Blackpool Nth to Preston about 2003.

Asks me, on my packed train, "Excuse me, how do I get to London Eusless?"

(train erupts in giggles)

"Oh sorry guard, you're useful!, USEFULL!!!!"

:)

Saw him live in 1983. Despite some corny material on the night, he was a naturally funny who could make an audience laugh without really doing anything. He will be missed.

Rumours going around that he died after choking on a biscuit.

But today his family confirmed it was a cracker.

You might need to have seen Mr Carson in action to understand the above !!

ran into him on Peterborough Station in 1992 I guess, he had 15 suitcases and was on his way to a show in Cleethorpes. All the platform staff seemed to know him.

Legend has it he would show most Saturday mornings for TISWAS in Birmingham, despite not being hired and not being paid
