The actor probably best know for his role as that loveable rogue Arthur Daley in Minder has sadly passed away at the age of 90.

How sad. He always seemed like a very pleasant man when interviewed, as well as being a good actor, of course.

Little dodgy maybe
But underneath
He's alright

Although for me the tune that came into my head was the flash harry theme from St Trinian's

I think he was the last surviving member of the cast from the original St Trinian's film of 1954. Dennis Waterman gave a live interview on the radio P.M. programme -he'd been to see him only on Tuesday when he'd heard how frail he was and not expected to live. Apparently 'the world's your lobster' line was George's own, and was an adlib which stayed in.

I don't often think much when celebrities/national treasures etc pass on, apart from a quick thought for their family and friends.

George Cole though was one of the few non celebrities who was extremely well known, loved and respected.

He has given me, various members of my family and millions of others, many hours of joy and laughter both in St Trinians as well as Minder.

Thank you George.

At least George Cole was actually famous for something. Not like a lot of these modern so called celebs who are just famous for being annoying.

I can only concur very much with the comments already made. Minder was a brilliant drama comedy and George played the part of Arthur Daley quite superbly. They don't make 'em like that anymore. RIP George.
