Rishton to Barking

I may need to travel to barking in a couple of weeks on an off peak return. Is the following route valid.

Rishton to Preston
Preston to Euston
Victoria Lane to Blackhorse Road
Blackhorse Road to Barking

Would normally use the underground from Euston but there is
closures on the Hammersmith and District lines.

I have had a quick eyeball using the GWR website with the following results (date used Saturday 26 March).

Rishton - Barking with "via" field specifying Preston: Rishton - Preston - Euston - Underground - Fenchurch Street - Barking. Off Peak Return (SVR) at £90.80 (no railcard discounts) is displaying.

Rishton - Barking with "via" field specifying Blackhorse Road: Rishton - Blackburn - Bolton - Manchester P - Euston - Underground - Blackhorse Road - Barking. No Off Peak Return (SVR) or any flexible fares are showing. However, there are Advances showing from £23 in each direction.

Alternatively, you could just simply use a Rishton - London return at £88.10 (or Advances from £22), and a Zones 1-6 One Day Travelcard or Oyster/Contactless.

In practice, if your ticket is checked on the tube or overground, they won't have the faintest idea where Rishton is or what the permitted routes from there to Barking are, so as long as you are on some vaguely reasonable route in the general direction of Barking it will be fine.
