TfL said:
The RMT has announced 48-hour strike action on the DLR next week. This is a dispute between the RMT and KeolisDocklands Amey, who operate the DLR on behalf of TfL.
If the strike goes ahead, there are unlikely to be any DLR services all day Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 March. Early morning services on Friday 30 March may also be affected.
Enhanced bus services will operate on key routes along the DLR network. All other TfL services will operate as normal but stations around Canary Wharf may be busier than usual and you should try to leave extra time for your journey.

Rather complex and effects everything from maintenance to on train staff too - its not just one department with issues.

Yes, it's part of the same dispute.
With the London Marathon on Sunday it will be no fun at all trying to get around east London. I usually photograph at several places along the route (Woolwich, Cutty Sark, Isle of Dogs, Tower Hill and St James's Park), but this year I'm just going to stay in one spot from start to finish.

Deliberately right across the Marathon weekend, the largest charity event in the country, all round DLR territory. All those poor runners you normally see collapsed in the DLR in the afternoon having given up, and who always cause complete quiet among the rest of the travellers when they get on, will have nowhere to go.

Can TfL say that nobody who has been a striker at such a key moment will ever be considered for any other TfL position in the future.

They dont work for TfL - they work for KeolisAmey Docklands. They are the ones who should be sorting this out and if not then TfL should be giving them a kick up the arse to sit down and thrash it out.

And im pretty sure its aginst the law to not employ anyone who has ever been on strike in their lifetime

... after all the expenditure on hiring substitute buses. Not to mention the Marathon competitors who wasted the day scrambling around rearranging hotels from which they could access the race start without needing the DLR.

Don't worry, I'm sure KeolisAmey have learned a good lesson.

Is this mostly hyperbole from you? I can't imagine there would be many who were 'scrambling around' wanting to change hotels given most would be booked up anyway.

Surprised your so vehemently defending the (now aborted) strike but unwilling to give any indication as to what it’s even about to assist the average lay person to form an opinion one way or another, more akin to the style of PR from the Russian, Turkish or Cuban regimes . :s

... which is why there were people who cancelled during Friday and are now staying overnight way down in Kent.

Meanwhile the roads here were swamped on Friday. Did you notice? Things changed so late on Thursday that large numbers had already made other arrangements.

Or maybe tell their staff who to vote for?

Or fire them for getting pregnant?

I wasn'the defending anyone nor anything so I have no idea what you are on about

I was replying to someone who seems to think there are hordes of people having to rearrange hotels wit no proof just hyperbole.
