Can anyone give advice on the best places to capture certain rolling stock?

I mean in the format of:

If you want a Class 92, get in contact with Crewe and get a visit there.
If you want a HST, get in contact with St Phillips Marsh or OOC.

Make sense?

Im interested in making a catalogue of Locations vs Trains, and im sure this kidna info would be useful to alot of others on here too :)

I'll start off:

Class 165 / 166 - Reading Depot (First Group)
Class 180 - St Phillips Marsh Depot (First Group)
Class 50 - Old Oak Common (EWS)
Class 92 - Crewe (EWS)
Class 373 - North Pole / Temple Mills (Eurostar)
Class 57 - Southampton Maritime (Freightliner)
Class 66 - Southampton Maritime (Freightliner)
Shuttles - Folkestone / Calais (Eurotunnel) (Calais is more likely but the french...good luck!)

Just a little snippet, 50031/50049 are allocated to Cardiff Canton at this present moment in time.

50035 Ark Royal is currently inside the Factory at OOC being worked on.

Forgive me but I'm actually quite confused here :s. Do you mean depot tours to find stored locomotives or locations to see various types of traction a.k.a

Willesden; Class 90/86x2/321/313 etc etc?

Yeah if you wanted to see a specific type of traction, where would you go for a depot tour. Regardless of whether they do it for public or private reasons. :)

Well Old Oak is fairly useless as not much stuff is maintained there anymore and only really houses 50035, D1015 and a crop of demic stuff..!

However thats only the EWS side. The FGW side houses the following throughout the day;
Class 43, 57/6, 165, 166, 180, Mk3 stock.

HEx side houses;
Classes 332 and 360.

Would personally got for Crewe Basford Hall cos they usually have a large-ish selection of AC electrics and the odd shed..

Indeed.

We only ever get 180s at SPM if one has failed during the day and 'the marsh' is a last resort.

1 is schedualed, though we have had up to 3 before, on-shed on the night-shift for an 'A'.

Northern (Western) (ex NorthWestern) 142's, 150's, 153's & 156's (and a couple of 158's) are based at Newton Heath Depot, near Dean Lane, Mc'r, while with Northern (Eastern) all the above classes along with 144 & 155 are based at Neville Hill, Leeds, and the above with the exception of 150's and 144's are based at Heaton Depot, Newacastle. Not that anyone would want to go searching for Northern units... unless your a really sad spotting veg.
