I visited the RHDR today - got a mix of diesel and steam haulage. Surprisingly the latter was far better! I'm currently sorting out a new online home for my photo collection, so in the mean time, here's the photos I took today:

No. 12 'John Southland' prepares to depart Hythe with the 1230 to Dungeness

No. 12 'John Southland' at Dungeness after arriving from Hythe

Drivers exchanging tokens at Romney Sands - No. 7 'Typhoon' is arriving.

No. 3 'Southern Maid' prepares to take my train forward to Hythe.

The RHDR is well worth a visit - their website can be found here.

Indeed, it is a great little railway (it's also a challenge actually getting into the coaches when you are over 6ft!).

Nice shots. There's a lot be said for miniature railways, they have a totally different character to mainline trains.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated as always.

How is the signalling there? and can you acces a signal house?

The signalling is a mix of semaphores and multi-aspect colour lights, controlled from various signal boxes along the route. None of them are open to the public, however you could always ask to have a look inside - most of the staff are pretty friendly and probably wouldn't mind.
