That PSUL curve at East Putney, whatever its name is!

Another PSUL move done, I still need a handful around the country. Going to make a list at some point this week...

Latest for me is a PSUL route, Attenborough Curve. Links the Attenborough area with Toton, not used by many passenger trains.

Another PSUL conquered, slowly but surely they are coming down!

Latest coverage for me is as follows.

Lostock Junction to Euxton Junction.
Retford to London Kings Cross, completing the ECML.
Three Bridges to Brighton.

A target I set late last year is to complete the current Northern network before the franchise operator changes, I'm not too far off doing that so hopefully I manage to do it.

My latest coverage (from last week) is:

Wakefield Kirkgate to Knottingley.
Methley Junction to Goole.
Habrough to Barton-upon-Humber.
Gilberdyke to Selby.

Hopefully, I'm going to get the line between Bradley Wood Junction (I think that's what the first junction after Brighouse station heading towards Wakefield is called) to Wakefield Kirkgate done this weekend ahead of my trip to the North East next month.

Down south
Cleared off the eastern end of the central line, the curves either side of South Tottenham (SO 0531 from Liverpool Street) and the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly line.

I've now done this, bring on the North East.

Now cleared all of Scotland, North of England, Midlands, and East Anglia, Mid Wales and all the South coast of England. In Trip Reports forum you can read my 22 day trip around the UK. rcv3.gif is the standard red/blue route coverage map; rcv3a.gif is a variant showing which lines I recently covered.

I have now done the District east of East Ham (though I had done that on c2c before), and also the Greater Anglia branches to Southend and Southminster.

I thus now have a ticket from Upminster to Southminster, so I feel a bit sad there isn't a Downminster.

----

And now I have done Guildford to Reigate, Dorking to Raynes Park, Wimbledon to South Croydon via Tramlink.

Time to up the envy I think! I highly recommend bringing up the MTA Subway map, should be easy enough to find on www.mta.info which will make this far easier to follow!

7th-12th March 2016

MTA Subway line 3:

Central Park North (110th Street) to Kingston Avenue

MTA Subway line 4:

Bowling Green to Nevins Street (from where it joined line 3's stations, which the 4 does after midnight, and we were on it well after 0130! Trip report will explain...)

MTA Subway line A:

Jay Street MetroTech to Howard Beach JFK Airport

MTA Subway line E:

5th Avenue/53rd Street to World Trade Center

MTA Subway line F:

34th Street/Herald Square to Jay Street MetroTech (partly covered by an A train, again the trip report will explain)

MTA Subway line J:

Fulton Street to Delancy Street/Essex Street

MTA Subway line N:

Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Coney Island Stillwell Avenue

MTA Subway line Q:

Coney Island Stillwell Avenue to Prospect Park

MTA Subway line R:

Times Square-42nd Street to Whitehall Street South Ferry

MTA Subway line S (Brooklyn version):

Prospect Park to Botanic Garden

MTA Subway line S (Broadway version):

Grand Central 42nd Street to Times Square-42nd Street

(Yes I know it's confusing having multiple S trains, I was getting lost myself!

I did do other bits apart from the Subway mind!

8th March 2016

World Trade Center to Exchange Square (New Jersey) and back (PATH)

Also on 8th March 2016:

Exchange Square (HBLR) to 22nd Street (Hudson-Bergen Light Rail)

12th March 2016

Howard Beach to Terminal 1 (JFK Airport) (AirTrain)

There simply wasn't time for any loco-hauled action on this occasion. If I go to the USA again, however, it will be far more focused on the train, including some long haulages with Amtrak locos. I was going to try and fit in the Long Island Rail Road, as they have locos apparently. Never mind, it was always known there wouldn't be time for everything!

Went up the smoke for the exhibition at Ally Pally at the weekend and finally there happened to be B&H diversions from Bristol, so at long last I've done the desert. Still need the avoid at Westbury though. Also did my last travelcard validity branch, Tattenham Corner and the PSUL P2 Willesden Jn up onto the NLL.

Well done on clearing the Northern network!

Thanks Tech, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it as it's been quite a hectic month, but fortunately I managed to get the last bits of coverage I needed before the end of the current franchise. It was an enjoyable trip (all units I travelled on were winners, so that's a bonus too) overall and I'm looking forward to going back to the North East again at some point.

The only downside is I'm going to have to clear the Northern network again when the Windermere branch transfers to Northern next month, although that shouldn't be too difficult!

In the last couple of weeks I've done Wrexham-Shotton, Norton Bridge and Yeovil chord.

Don't require anything vaguely up North now apart from a couple of chords and Tweedbank. Now mostly SWT land around Guildford and bits of Wales that I haven't done.

ps does anything do the chord at Gateshead that goes from the west bridge onto the line past Gateshead depot site?
