I'm currently researching for my undergraduate dissertation on UK rail privatisation.
BAsically, I'm wondering if anyone knows/ could point me in the direction of the route kilometre/ miles size of the different franchises at the start of privatisation (so around 1996-97). The ORR dataset only goes as far back as about 2007, and even trawling through SRA annual reports only brings me to about 2001.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
