According to rumours at least one 325 is going for scrap today from Crewe Electric depo to Newport.
There's an STP currently on RTT.

The only move to Newport Sims today is from Wolverton, so presumably not a 325.
It's to the Alexandra Dock sidings right by Newport Sims

I guess its because Newport will be occupied today with scrapping the 321s first.

Ah, that’ll be why I missed it!

Wonder why they’re so keen to scrap the 325s given how long some other members of DB’s fleet have been languishing there.

Are they debranding the 325s? When I worked in Royal Mail transport in the 1980s they were very fussy about this for security reasons for withdrawn road vehicles.

Presumably since the units are Royal Mail owned they may just want to scrap them and be done with them ASAP? I can’t imagine RM management enjoy being subjected to petitions saying ‘reinstate the 325s!’ - if they’re scrapped then it draws something of a line under it.

I’m curious about this theoretical crime using a branded train that you are imagining? ;)

I don't think they are that fussy about these days given I've seen more than one recognisable (i.e. the logo removed but not very well) ex-Royal Mail lorry driving around in various countries in Southern Africa!

Reported on WNXX last night that at least one coach from 325013 was seen on the road having left Mossend Yard. It's ultimate destination has currently not been reported

I saw one coach on a low loader heading east on the A66 at Penrith just after 4 this afternoon

66129 hauled 325009 as 4Z26 17:02 Daventry to Warrington Arpley this evening.

(325009 had gone to Daventry under it's own power as 5M36 from Crewe Electric Depot on 1st October, as mentioned in post #268)
