Today, The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland operated ''The Semaphore Finale''' from Belfast to Castlerock & return using GNR Loco No.85 + 6 RPSI Mk2's. The train departed Belfast just after 1130hrs arriving into Castlerock just over 2 hours later where it was greeted with a great crowd awaiting it's arrival. A magnificent crowd turned out including former railway staff over the years to see the events take place at Castlerock.
On duty, Was Signaller Kevin Brown who said himself ,He will leave the box on Wednesday night after the last train with some fond memories of his time as a signalman at Castlerock.
Castlerock Cabin is due to close on Wednesday 2nd November 2016 at 2100hrs as part of the re-signalling works.
