I'm pleased to say that our new system finds and offers this journey by default. A non-split fares version of the site has been launched today at https://www.trainscanbecheaper.info

Very impressive, nice work!

Also thanks very to much everyone who has taken time to contribute, it is much appreciated. I am not sure how I will do this journey in the future but I have some sensible options available now and some ammo for VTWC support if I have the energy.

Given the earlier row about availability of SVR fares from Lancaster to Euston might want to escalate this to ORR/DfT and/or a newspaper or two as it's hardly customer friendly. Sounds like someone's unilaterally adjusted the 'connections' booking rule in the VT engine: has this affected other flows as well?

So a forum isn't the pace to express opinions? I'm beginning to think the stories I've heard about this site are correct, I'll stop posting .
Opinions ≠ facts.

You can express opinions, but stating something incorrectly as a fact isn't an opinion, it's misleading.

I'd say that if the minimum connection time at stockport is met before the London train leaves that you let go then the connection isn't valid. It is a train that would get you into London after the connection before the first Off Peak arrival.
The above is what you posted and isn't an opinion; it's simply incorrect. Devoid of fact. Lacking in truth.

Of course people can express opinions. But what you gave, in this case, was a clear statement about ticket validity, which wasn't actually right. If you aren't sure that it's correct, then it is better to say so, and not potentially mislead people.

From what I have seen, this is a fairly normal expectation at other forums that may deal with specialist knowledge (people doing similar on pepipoo, for example, usually get a much ruder response, and may be threatened with a ban).
