Anyone help with this one please?

Had 3 Samsung Galaxy phones now - S2, Alpha and S7.

Long overdue an upgrade. Was considering S10, until S20s came out.... Now the S20 FE.

Anybody any thoughts or suggestions on which is the best model? Is anything to good to be true?

Always wibble when buying a new phone! Lol.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G ready on EE and for the few months I've had it I'm glad to have moved away from Apple iPhone

I think the S20 FE is a great spec phone for a less absurd amount of money and if I was after a new phone now I'd definitely be considering one.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
The S20 is a nice phone but unless you're a power user or need a ton of horsepower I don't know that it's worth paying top whack. My handset is a Galaxy A90. Really decent screen and battery life with 5g for just over £300 with mid-range performance which does the trick for all the apps I need.

There's an A91 to succeed it soon but not sure on release date.

I had got the S20 FE but returned it after a week as had too many faults that would have annoyed me over the years.
I went back to my old OnePlus 5t on a sim only deal. When this phone has had it I'll probably upgrade to another OnePlus, great phones and decent price.

I have always avoided Samsung phones in the past after reading several years ago that they are the worst for being stuffed with unnecessary apps ("bloatware"). Is that still the case?

It's not as bad as it was but there's still an annoying Samsung-specific element to their apps. They include their own version Photo Gallery, Calendar and Store apps - some of which rely on you having a separate Samsung account. Use the standard Google apps instead and you don't have to worry about it. I definitely get why the 'stock' Android experience on other phones is often preferable.

The new S21 (or S30) is due to be announced early next year (rumours are January) so if you can hold out for a bit longer then you might get a better deal on the S20 (or even go for the newer one)

Yes as someone who previously was a Samsung person (Galaxy S6 and S9) I jumped ship to OnePlus 8 Pro recently and I've been very very happy with it. About the only thing I do miss (and it's a small niggle) is there's no notification LED. So if you get say a message on Facebook messenger you just the sound/buzz no persistent flashing green light. But I'd definitely suggest anyone who is currently on Samsung checks out OnePlus.

They must have changed that since the 5T as it has the LED on this model.
Even without that they are very good phones though.

There's not on the Samsung S20 either.

I recently upgraded from the S8 to the S20. Not sure if I'd have chosen the S20 FE with hindsight. I chose the S20 due to the camera, but ended up buying a compact camera anyway as even that wasn't enough to scratch the urge of having a camera with me at all times.

8 years old is impressive! My 7 year old Note 3 barely turns on now!
Mine turned on but it was the annoyingly increasing number of apps and websites that stopped working on it that really made me update.
