Hopefully you lot will complain loudly enough to get a change of plan so that you can have our brand new 3H1TACH1 IETs & us in Cornwall can have our HSTs back for long distance services

On the surface, maybe. The less said about the technical condition of the vehicles, the better.

I have no axe to grind, but six weeks ago Abellio thought they had a deal with the RMT, and presumably planned their guard training on that basis, using overtime and rest day working, as is usual. Then they found they hadn't a deal, and when the guards reimposed their overtime they were up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Surely some of the responsibility lies with the RMT for agreeing a deal which they then couldn't sell to their members.

I thought the 0944 was supposed to be an HST? I'm on it next week too

You cant really. What it says on RTT is called a 'timing load'. Operators will often put their slowest train that may operate on that route as the timing load. For example, Northern often use Pacers as timing loads as they're slower than a sprinter, so that if a pacer makes its way onto the route, it won't lose time.

There isn't timing loads for every train - 170s are timed as 158s, 800s are still pathed as HSTs on GWR, and the 801s that LNER are testing are pathed as the 91/MK4 sets.

The only real way is to visit the TOPS request thread on the day, and ask what is allocated to a certain time train that day. It is user powered though so you may not always get an answer.

Does anyone know if there’s a reason why there’ll be a mix of FGW and GWR ‘Classic’ sets used? Is it to do with availability? Just curious.

Purportedly the best of the best were chosen in terms of the structural quality, so it's just a mix of whatever the best was really.

My thoughts exactly - personally, I quite like the green GWR livery, quite classy. Classier than the First livery

Couldn't agree more - same with what First have done with the TPE livery too.

The old GWR fag packet livery was awful.

Are we going to see more than two HST sets on Scotrail on Monday?

I hope 43096 won't mind me copying this post into this relevant thread, to give a bit of an update regarding the Scotrail power cars:

This might be a very silly question, but where are all these power cars being kept at the moment? I’m sure some of them are still getting work done at Brush, but what about the ones good to go?

Which PCs are still to be modified/repainted?

Will we see the HSTs in passenger service this Sunday onwards?

Quick summary: 36 in Scotland, 8 at Brush, 4 at Laira, 4 at Ely and 2 at Wabtec Doncaster.

If it had, Abellio would be making sure we all knew! I keep checking RTT for a movement from Wabtec to Craigentinny, but no sign.

What are the educated predictions for Sunday onwards....

Is there enough in place to get by (by that I mean everything from trained staff to power cars to infrastructure), or are we looking at service cancellations?

Reduced service on Sunday. I reckon it would be Monday you'd need to watch.
