Any 170’s left to go back? Perhaps it is one of those?

Question ultimately is - do we have the right number of sets to run the envisioned timetable? I suspect yes but the work to deliver that got screwed by covid. ie stabling facilities and crew training. Therefore HST are sitting about and 170s are running.

No more to go off lease but as I said the 425-434 batch is undergoing a refresh and socket fitment currently. Then the whole fleet is done.

I had wondered if it was a re-run of the one that had the mishap at Dalwhinnie.
I noticed that RTT showed it as stopping for 5 minutes or more at all stations in one or both directions.

I’m going to make a wild guess and say that the 14:39 Glasgow - Inverness via Aberdeen and 20:15 Inverness - Glasgow may be HSTs now? The pathing has changed to VAR on those services and 1a69 is no longer showing as gaining extra coaches at Aberdeen

Are there any plans to re-open the buffet any time soon? Surely this could be done within the current restrictions?

A press release about cadder yard was finally released on Thursday.

Six stabling berths and accomodation for NR maintenance staff, to be completed by December.

Bit of a nothing announcement, bit the first actual press release confirming work has started, which is good news.

Sorry but I've lost track here.
Are all the sliding door and refubished HSTs now in use. Was it 26 4/5 car
Thanks
K
The sets have all been delivered, but aren't all in use daily. IIRC, there are still some fifth carriages to be delivered though.

I think it'll be the next timetable change before they're all in use.

How busy are central belt <> inverness trains at the moment? I'm travelling next week, would quite like to get the 1508 ex GLQ which I believe ought to be an HST. Would quite like to avoid any services that are overly busy though.

off peak they're pretty empty, easily able to get a table to yourself, especially north of Stirling. Don't know about peak times though.

1508 isn't the busiest by time it arrives into Inverness at the moment busier Friday Saturdays. And yes booked hst same set off the 0845 Inverness Glasgow

Anyone else encountering a higher number of set failures recently seems to been a few this week alone

I’ve heard that departure boards are now advertising HST services as Inter7City instead of ScotRail? Has anyone seen this to confirm? Great to see if true!

There was an image posted on Twitter today showing Inter7City on the departure boards at Inverness underneath services to Aberdeen and Glasgow - have posted it below alongside a link to the original tweet:

As of when? I didn't notice it last week.

They have done a few times I'm sure, I've seen it on a board at the platform entrance.

Be interesting to see if this only displays if an HST set operates the service and not if a 170 subs

The boards at Queen St have been showing this for well over a year, as have Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The boards scroll this instead of "this train is formed of xx carriages." So if its a 170 it just says 3 carriages, no Inter7city.

Are sure you’re not confusing the “this is an Inter7City service” scrolling message with Inter7City appearing where the operator does (in this case replacing ScotRail)?

Aren't there still 9 to come north? And isn't there a complete set with power cars which went south for warranty work, and will since have been used as a test bed for each of the extra carriages?
