43149+43032 have worked 0E23 1106 Haymarket-Doncaster Wabtec today presumably to pick up the next set.
I thought they were restricted to 100mph as 2+4. Or is the pathing on RTT not reflective of their actual speed limit?
So what advantage do the short HSTs have over a TPE 185 style refurb of the 170s?ScotRail's safety case is for 100 max
All, or some of them, are planned on being lengthened to 2+5, allowing ScotRail to operate them at 125mph if they want too.So what advantage do the short HSTs have over a TPE 185 style refurb of the 170s?

Capacity and comfort, the idea was to cut some stops, provide improved on-board service not to increase linespeed afaiaa
Agree with that. Plus, the extra power offered by 2 Power Cars over the 3 underfloor engines on the 170s allows for greater acceleration and some timetable improvements. It's certainly more noticeable on the Highland Mainline coming out of Inverness for example!
The advantage of passengers getting the travel environment they wanted more than what any 170 refurbishment could deliver. So what advantage do the short HSTs have over a TPE 185 style refurb of the 170s?
They found passengers much prefered taking the HST Highland Chieftain over their DMU services, so are attempting to emulate the full intercity travelling environment rather than at best regional express style 170s.So what advantage do the short HSTs have over a TPE 185 style refurb of the 170s?
Looks like another pair of power cars are on their way down to Doncaster from haymarket right now
Are they still operating any slam-door sets or has the derogation for them now expired?
Another pair? A pair went down last week. Must be two sets coming soon.Looks like another pair of power cars are on their way down to Doncaster from haymarket right now
ScotRail isn't operating the cross-border stock movements, but rather some FOC. I forget which. So ScotRail's safety-case isn't relevant there.ScotRail's safety case is for 100 max
They were viewed by the scoring to provide a better customer experience, a larger number of seats, and considerably better acceleration. So what advantage do the short HSTs have over a TPE 185 style refurb of the 170s?

43183 was one of the two P/C's that headed south today (can't remember the other), the pair had a slight fault on Platform 1 at Waverley as well.

There’s a list in the current Rail Express.Does anyone have a list of the 42xxx TS vehicles at either Ely or Doncaster that are either stored for ScotRail or in the process of being rebuilt with new doors? Thanks
Any chance of reproducing that list as I can't get out due to shielding? There’s a list in the current Rail Express.
