Just a few questions about it really:

Is this route any good, as I may buy it on UKTS disc?
When is it set, and what area does it cover?
Are activities, all relevent stock and cabs/sounds included?

Any screenshots would be great too. :D

Cheers,

It runs from Edinburgh to Dundee, North Berwick etc as well as Dunfirmline on the loop line, however scenery only extends from Edinburgh to Rosyth. Stock, sounds, cabs and activites are included. The route is based in the modern era although some stock & activites are based in the past. Here are some screenshots (not mine!). some stock is from UKTrainSim.

I have this route that i got from UKtrainsim on disc. It is set from 80's to the present day and it covers the whole of central scotland, however only part of the route has scenery although the track work is throughout.

Stock on the disc includes:
150,156,158,170, 20, 25,26,27,37,40,43,47,60,66,90,91,Virgin Voyager, Virgin Pendolino.

See this link for more info.

and one of my own favourite shots as it shows the excellent bridgework

Hope it helps.

Hi Chirs,
Are all the stocks included full operational - ie: I don't need to make a consist? Also, is the Pendolino the older one, or the new one by Anton Courtney-May? :)

The CD includes the older textured model. Anton has simply changed the skin - it is exactly the same model. All stock includes consists or they wouldn't work in activities...

There are also a number of acivities you can download, though you do need to install extra stock, and do the usual messing about with cabs, sounds, and consist and acivity spelling mistakes: ie lots of route control for those extra downloadables. But there are no problems with the CD stuff.

Yeah, that is exactly why I am going to start buying CDs, because generally, messing around with cabs and sounds is hard, and can mess up your MSTS, so a complete re-install is needed!

Thanks for the help guys, I will consider the route. :)

You never need to reinstall it if all you have done is edit the cab/sound alias lines. You just need to correct them and they'll be fine. Always read the ReadMe's for the required cabview/sounds.

I always do do that, but for some reason, MSTS comes up with errors when loading, even if I've created consists and aliased sounds/cabs...;)

Maybe once you've tried a few CDs you could see how everything works. If you look at everything properly it's quite easy to see whether it'll work. Scottish Central is great by the way :)

Agreed, I'm just getting the hang of it now after two years!

Scottish Central is great, so is Highland Mainline (loads of activities for that too (still not all wrking yet...)), but then maybe I'm just biased being a Jock in Jockland.;)
