Presumably both flows (Edinburgh - Glasgow Stations and Glasgow Central - Mount Florida) are priced by Scotrail?

An unusual and most welcome bit of information from Scotrail to provide.

They are, but it is marginally cheaper to split at Glasgow.
Alternatively, cheaper still if passengers go to Central on XC Only tickets.

LOL - ram onto the smallest trains that run between the 2 cities (in terms of the number of seats) - That is even if they were running 3 coach trains on Saturday, it sounds like the routes will be as below.

via Falkirk (6 car 170s)
via Bathgate (6 car 334s although not all services just the ones they feel need them)
via Shoots (4 car 156 / 8)
via Motherwell (no change)

I think they should run the trains direct from Edinburgh to Mt Florida and Kings Park, Virgin managed to route an 87 and push pull set to Kings Park for the Scotland England Game in 1999. They could avoid a lot of trouble in Glasgow City Centre if they were to do this. They Could run 380's realistically as all lines are cleared via Carstairs, Newton and Kings Park for them.

Or Run SPT 170's for hearts fans, and repaint others in hibs colours! just a thought.

I saw this too, found it hilarious.

Imagine, a rail enthusiast at this match.

Not only will they be wanting their team to win, but they will also be wondering what route they'll get to take home... which is completely up to the players!

I wonder if someone supporting the winning team and living in Falkirk will keep a low profile going home or take the long way home.
