Hi, Getting conflicting information from Scotrail so hope someone here can help.

I had a Scotrail smartcard and loaded tickets onto it successfully. I then reached the age where I got a SaltireCard (nec) which has an ITSO logo and separate ITSO card number, I can read this card using the scotrail phone app but if I I try and buy a ticket it only offers the option to load it onto my original Sotrail smartcard.

I contacted Scotrail to see how to use my NEC ITSO card instead.

They missed the point and replied that I could not load an NEC onto my Scotrail card and pointed me to the youngscot T&C.
I explained again sating I wanted to add a standard non-concession ticket to my NEC ITSO card, and they replied that it was not possible and I should contact Transport Scotland regarding concession travel.

However Smart Cards, M-Ticket Apps & Mobile Payment | Smart Travel Scotland shows a picture of the NEC and says "This means you can now travel on bus, rail and subway using just one ITSO smartcard, rather than needing separate smartcards or paper tickets for each operator."

So who is right? and if I can use it how do I change the ITSO card number on my Scotrail account?

Thanks

DO you have your ScotRail card registered to your account? Swap it with the NEC and see if you can load it then? To be honest at the moment webtis only fulfil to cards from their own TOC.

When using the desktop website to buy a ticket the option is "Choose a Smartcard", and then underneath that is a line saying "Not on the list? You may need to register your Smartcard". Is there something similar in the app?

A different CS rep from Scotrail came back and said that I could load an ITSO ticket to the NEC card, and ask at a station for help.

I did manage to add my NEC card by setting up a new scotrail account but I think I have found the correct way to do it.

On the www.scotrail.co.uk website logged in as 'my account' you cannot edit the ITSO card and I could only request a photo scotrail card instead of my non-photo one.
BUT
If you attempt to buy a ticket and get to www.buytickets.scotrail.co.uk there the my account button allows you to manage smartcards and add and delete them, I have added my NEC as the default and other family members' cards so it looks like I can also buy tickets for them from the website.

On the app I think you can only buy tickets for your default card, and will be prompted for a card number only if there is not one already on your account.

Take Care - the NEC card has 2 numbers on the front of it, the ITSO number is the one at the bottom next to the ITSO logo not the one by your name.

No the app does not give you a choice, only the default card but it does prompt for a card number if you do not have one.

Nice to know how well designed these apps are. It's not as if people don't use mobiles to do things increasingly more to than using a computer...... Oh, wait they do.
