Evening all,

Can any knowledgeable soul pinpoint roughly when the Selby area would have ceased to have had a shunter duty allocated to it?.

Thanks in advance for any info offered,

Cheers,

Richard

I was a HSWA Rep. For ground staff based on Doncaster, Healey Mills, Leeds Area and many other locations. The only shunts that took place were those at Selby Potters,
no shunting was done after EWS came into the Scene. If required, a 350 would be sent from either Knottingley, or Doncaster. 7years ago I retired from EWS and these shunts were still going as required. The shunting was done for trains at Selby Potters was done by the loco of the company that needed a shunt EG GBRF.

No shunter duties listed for Selby in the 1979 or the later (undated but approx 1981-2) editions of the "Shunter Duties" books by the ICRS.
