We are a couple in London looking to do a five day break in Cornwall in late September.
Looking at London to Penzance, there are advance tickets there and back for £39.10 up until Wed Sep 22nd. It's intuitive that the cheaper tickets on Thu 23rd through Sun 26th would be booked up, but ...
The following week has different price points, eg £71.90 for Penzance to London on Tue Sep 28th. This seems counterintuitive to us, but we thought perhaps someone here might have some answers and some advice for when to buy to get a better deal. It would explain things if some cheap tickets weren't yet released for the last week in September, but we understood tickets to be released 12 weeks ahead or more, and that's 10 weeks away.
