As it’s West Coast Railways providing the stock, I would guess that it will be top and tailed with one of their class 37s and a 47. Though you never know it could be a 33 or 57.

Just got back from going on the Statesman trip to Carlisle. The loco going up was a Ckass 57, 57 316. Coming back was a 47, 47 772. Incidentally, the train was about twenty minutes late arriving at Carlisle, due us being held north of Preston for late running trains. Coming back we were early! We got off at Stockport about ten minutes early.
