I received a flyer in the post this morning for "Settle to Carlisle & Coastal Statesman" rail tour on 16th October. Starts from High wycombe, then follows Chiltern route to Banbury, finally calls at Leamington Spa - then what?

It has to get to Hellifield somehow, and that's the bit that's interesting! I guess - just a guess - that it'll go via Coventry, skirt Birmingham (Aston - Perry Bar etc.) then Crewe and the main line as far as Leyland. Is there a right turn to Bamber Bridge onto the L&Y? If so, then Blackburn, Clitheroe and (at last!) Hellifield. If there isn't a right turn, then it's Crewe, Mc. Picadilly, Deansgate, Salford (the 'Windsor Link' forsooth!) Bolton, Darwen, Blackburn.

Anybody know?

So onto the W.C.M.L. off the old Lanky Yorky line at Lostock hall is it known as farington north and south junction I got a bit confused thinking the south curve was Euxton jct but that's on the Lanky line that branches off to chorley.

If it's not picking up in the West Mids it might well try and go Leamington-Cov-Nuneaton for the Trent Valley. Whether it can get the gap is a different matter.

South side is just Farington Junction. Farington Curve Junction is the North Side, Lostock Hall junction the east side.
