So does the town of Kendal Mint, which I am reliably informed is a fictional creation, but is based upon an amalgamation of the Cumberland settlements Kendal and Mintsfeet. Mintsfeet appears, to all intents and purposes, to be a part of Kendal too, so that is that, then.Eccles also lends its name to a delicacy ending in "cake"
