Eccles also lends its name to a delicacy ending in "cake"
So does the town of Kendal Mint, which I am reliably informed is a fictional creation, but is based upon an amalgamation of the Cumberland settlements Kendal and Mintsfeet. Mintsfeet appears, to all intents and purposes, to be a part of Kendal too, so that is that, then.

Hedingham - why?
Well March was last month, this month is April and today is the 12th. On the 12th April 1550 Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, Lord Great Chamberlain of England, was born in Hedingham Castle, Essex, England.
