The film composer Ron Goodwin was born on 17th February 1925 in Plymouth. Known for his film music, he scored over 70 films in a career lasting over fifty years, his most famous works including "Where Eagles Dare", "Battle of Britain" and "633 Squadron". He died on 8th January 2003, aged 77, at Newbury, Berkshire.

I thought that Mossmorran was a hamlet about 3 km south-east of Cowdenbeath where the land for the ethylene plant was used.

Can someone check and if I am mistaken, I shall strike-though my posting.

According to a 1940 1:25000 map on NLS website, the name Mossmorran was used only to signify the moss. No sign on that, or an earlier map, of as hamlet of that name, though there was a nearby pit row called Landale Row (or similar; neglected to note it down). Sorry.

Lochgelly held a charrette* in 2010 to try and find solutions to its long term problems. Govan, in partnership with Partick, held a similar group problem solving session in 2015.
