In October 1936 the Jarrow Marchers spent their first night after leaving Jarrow in Chester-Le-Street. Nearly three weeks later they spent the last night before their arrival in London at Edgware.

New Crofton is the location of a new colliery being developed as a workers' co-operative. Another colliery run by the co-operative movement was at Shilbottle, Northumberland.

According to a 1940 1:25000 map on NLS website, the name Mossmorran was used only to signify the moss. No sign on that, or an earlier map, of as hamlet of that name, though there was a nearby pit row called Landale Row (or similar; neglected to note it down). Sorry.

Lochgelly held a charrette* in 2010 to try and find solutions to its long term problems. Govan, in partnership with Partick, held a similar group problem solving session in 2015.

* - I confess to having had to look up the meaning of this!

22 other cities as well as London have the right to appoint a Lord Mayor, but the only other one entitled to use the title "Right Honourable" is the Lord Mayor of York.
