Very unusual images from the very south of the Dutch province of Limburg are appearing, where extremely heavy rainfall has caused flooding of multiple railway lines (which is an almost non-existent calamity here).

Train traffic between Sittard and Maastricht has been stopped due to a flooding at Bunde station, where tracks have completely disappeared under water...

On the other side of Limburg, at the Heerlen - Herzogenrath line, the downpoors have washed away the ballast from underneath the tracks leading to closure of the line...
- Thread with video on Twitter

At this route the replacement bus service will obviously also have trouble getting near the stations. Other footage shows the streets around Eygelshoven Markt station have changed into a raging river carrying everything loose in its path down the hills.

Only two weeks later heavy rainfall is again disrupting train traffic in the Dutch province of Limburg. Currently the line from Maastricht to Liège Guillemins is looking like this near the southernmost Dutch station of Eijsden: Image by ProRail

Although there is much more severe flooding with risk of overflowing rivers, other routes within Dutch Limburg seem not yet to be affected. The situation just across the border seems worse, with almost all railways around Liège being closed due to flooding.

A lot of rain has been falling in Germany, several lines near the Rhein are closed. People are advised to avoid Nordrhein-Westfalen if possible.

According to the FB page about it there is flooding at one of the Schwebebahn (hanging monorail thingy) stations in Wuppertal - I guess there's a lower down one (most of it runs maybe 50m above the river) but that's still pretty high, unless it has a ground level building of some kind. Bus services completely suspended in Wuppertal too.

Presumably it is the access that is flooded, rather than the actual station?

Closure: There are massive problems at the Westende suspension railway station. There the water has climbed the entrance area.

Have to question the "50 metres above the river" bit you've got there, @Bletchleyite ;)

In the mean time the rain has stopped, but now the high water levels in several rivers are causing problems.
Near Bunde and Meerssen a dike has failed flooding parts of these towns. This also led to closure of the mainline between Sittard and Maastricht.
