Hi all,

We seem to have unveiled recently a need for a similar thread to Red Pen 2015 and "your winners for sight" threads. Of course, this one is for listing your latest scores with stations. I'm in the middle of getting ready for work so shall have to expand upon this introduction later.

Quite, I also have to come back to this thread later to list all of my station visits when I get time to dig out my old notebook, I'll edit this post later and post a further reply to clear up changes to this post. So let's at least get this started:

Today hasn't added as many as I'd have liked (retreated to the hotel early today) but a few nonetheless

Milngavie
Greenfaulds
Charing Cross (Glasgow) - don't think I've ever known a station with such a long staircase from the platforms...not good for a +3!

Tyne and Wear Metro:

Bank Foot
Bede
Callerton Parkway

06/02/15

Tyne and Wear Metro:

Nunthorpe

Redcar British Steel*

Redcar East

Seaton Carew

Yarm

* = This is one of my exceptional stations like Lympstone Commando, where it's not exactly possible to score stations by my usual method of arrival off a train/other mode of transport then continue on another train/other mode of transport. In these special circumstances, where you can't exactly alight due to private property etc, as long as the train calls that'll do me quite happily.

I did consider applying that rule to all stations, but that knocks out the challenge!

07/02/15

Tyne and Wear Metro:

Benton
Four Lane Ends
Longbenton
Palmersville
Shiremoor

Including Tring (in my previous post), my YTD is 65 :D

How does this work stations uve stopped at or stations uve stepped on seems sad to me.

Strictly speaking changed trains at (not off and back in the same diagram)

I only do it semi seriously - it's another way to make travelling similar areas more interesting (such as I've been to Cumbernauld before so today I changed at Greenfaulds instead)

Why do I keep reading this as "SHARK" attacks? <( <D

This is also what attracted my attention and made me visit this thread.

I was not aware that global warming had brought sharks into the areas named in the postings on this thread recently.

The only sharks that frequent the inland areas where I live are Sale Sharks, once from Sale, then from Stockport and now found ground-sharing with Salford Red Devils RLFC on the new ground near Barton Airport.

Just counted my visited stations out of the index in my Baker, took quite some time with my brother playing The Last Of Us at loud volume and bellowing down the mic to his mates! A most irritating distraction, must have re-counted some of the index about 5 times and nearly lost my rag!

Anyway, my list breaks down as the following:

NI: 18
RoI: 58
UK: 1,721

I have not yet counted up how many are left to get, hopefully I'll have that done in a bit, shall return later with an update when it's done :)
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Made my count of required stations to get earlier, the figures are as follows:

RoI: 136
NI: 43
UK: 1,466

This does include all preserved lines, light rail and national network stations. It hasn't included proposed stations, so obviously when new ones arrive (Cranbrook arrives in 2015 doesn't it?) the count will change.

I'm even more motivated than ever to get shack scratching! <D

Done a quick tally up as well.

I've visited 523 NR stations (by train); 130 Preserved/Heritage stations; 115 assorted tube/metro stations.

Only realised tonight that I've never done Walsden (all of five miles from home). Oops...

Poppleton added today :)

I've not done a station that is even closer to home...but then, I'm not sure many will have been brave enough either! (Ravensthorpe...*shudder*...)

So far this year: Blackheath, Cambridge Heath, Denmark Hill, East Dulwich, Haywards Heath, Heworth*, Southend East, Sunderland.

*Most recent

I've just downloaded the station list and I've visited 210 for definite, plus another 10 or 20 on forum trips and challenges.

Worksop, Seaham, Thornaby, Harrow-on-the-Hill, Sudbury & Harrow Road, London Marylebone, Woolwich Arsenal and Bexley are my new shacks this year. I've got a fortnight trip planned for June with which I'm hoping to get the entire SN network done (I've currently only done 15 of the stations that they serve), plus about 70 stations on top of that.

Long time no see gnolife!

Indeed, it's been a long time!

Also, while I'm here, what station list is this to download? Would probably be easier to mark them all off!

ORR station usage stats in Excel format. You might have to add a few closed ones manually.
