Controlled, at the moment by Woodburn signal box, before its transfer to Sheffield PSB, is the Broughton Lane/Tinsley Yard/Shepcote lane triangle, the Shepcote lane side been out of use for some years. There have been rumours that freight companies are wanting access to Tinsley from Woodburns end, (Shepcote). Is this true, and can anyone confirm if this side of the triangle is indeed set to re-open. I beleive in conjunction with a road stone contract, for Sheffields roads over the coming years??????

I can't confirm anything about the contract but all the track has been cleared of vegetation and Network Rail staff were looking at the points the other week.

It should never have gotten into such a state. Exciting times for that part of railway, this, and the Tram Train, wonder when they will start related infrastructure works for that.
