A beautiful Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III, at the Millstream Hotel, Bosham, West Sussex. Bearing reg plate F U 2 :D

I was hoping for a sneaky photo - but the driver was stood right next to it and deep in conversation with another chap.
Presumably that plate was issued when society was rather more polite; it'd probably be on the banned list these days! :)

Well I guess you could have tested the situation and taken a photo anyway to see what (if any) the driver's response was... and if it was one particular form of words, you could have aptly responded with '... ... too' whilst pointing at the reg plate!

There's plenty of photos of it online; it also seems the plate has previously been worn by an E-Type Jaguar and a Mini.

Genius! :D

They looked the Sussex equivalent of Phil 'n' Grant Mitchell...

I saw KS1 a few months ago on a blacked out Range Rover. It was valid at the time but is no longer on DVLA's vehicle enquiry service.

Probably 30 years or more ago now walking the back street route from Paddington to the B.R.B. I passed a small, locked yard somewhere just before the Edgware Road, possibly underneath the Westway(???).
The striking feature was that it contained about 4 expensive cars and all had registrations of just the letter 'A' and a single digit (can't remember which, though)
Seemed very strange that they were in such a short sequence. Strange, too, that they didn't represent the usual motives for 'personal regs' unless to show that the owner had owned cars for a very long time, indeed from the first to be registered, which presumably the 'A' series were.

Presumably you can put any plate you like on a vehicle provided it keeps off the public highway. Getting it manufactured legitimately might be more difficult.

Yes, I realise that, but it was just a small enclosure well out of the way, certainly no houses nearby, so not very likely to impress anyone. From what I remember parked untidily as well.

I've done a GOV.UK MOT check and A3, A5 and A7 are all currently licenced , surprising so many are still around. (Didn't do more - from experience MOT check don't like you doing many checks for consecutive reg. nos. with the same letters).

I was thinking more along the lines of the plates showing some kind of “internal user” number rather than “show-off” plates.

I saw IT on I think a expensive Merc years ago.
My favourite was a beaten up white 7.5 ton truck with SL56 UGH or very close to that in Slough of course !

Spotted on the Calmac ferry to the Scottish island of Gigha. A small VW with plate G1GHA. I'm guessing it's a regular on that ferry!

Yep, similalrly in Scotland I’ve seen SKY1E on Skye, and FER51T in the village of Fersit. I believe TU11OCH is just round the corner from FER51T but never seen it myself.

I saw O5 on a relatively old Lexus CT the other day around Totteridge - probably the plate is worth more than the car!

Today I saw 13 OG, styled to look like “BOG”, on a van.

No prizes for guessing which company the van belonged to.

I have a photo of a Mercedes AMG something or other in Birmingham a few years ago with the plate BOY3 7OY. I rolled my eyes at the time and I still do now.

Oh, and also more recently a Tesla with the plate BE T1M. Don't be Tim, he's a t**t.
